No No Not So Much

I guess I should have posted this one before I made my goals. Since that is not an option here goes.

I have made some fundamental mistakes with bankroll management; I am also experiencing the negative variance that happens in poker.

On Friday Dec 7th I had $116 in my account. Today I have $23 and a $26 token, (Stars account is at about $80, but that is up from $45 earlier this week). What did I do? I got greedy. To start with I won a satellite into the daily double, where you play two tournaments at once, both $10+2, on Full Tilt, in its self this is not a bad thing, but I then tried to get into the other and missed not once but twice, what did I do? I bought in the tourney anyway; I could not stand to risk not getting the bonus if things went well. Did they go well? No No Not So Much, out early. I believe that cost me about $18 well above my bankroll.

So what did I do next? Did I tighten back down go to strict rules and play to my strengths? No No Not So Much. I decided it was time to play cash games to become an Iron Man and “Not Suck at Cash Games.” Did I play one table and practice and learn and understand that cash game play is much different then tournament format (SNG & MTT) No No Not So Much; I played 4 tables at a time, while I sat at anyone table with no more then $2, I was losing $8 at a time, well above my bankroll.

When I started losing in cash games I pressed to hard in the SNG’s and MTT. It feels like I am missing every draw and my opponents are hitting every draw. So I slid. I am at the bottom; I have been here before I have no plans to return. I have ways to add money to my account, namely folks at Card Clubs.net need money on Stars and are looking for a swap, I will do this if needed, and I just need to increase the roll on Stars.

The plan is to grind my way back up, once up I cannot allow this to happen again, I am not sure my heart can take it. Do I feel good about where I am in my poker “career” No No Not So Much?

This too can be fixed.
